Happy 4th of July everyone! We want to tell you a little about what we have for this month. Whiskey Wednesdays are back! Come out every Wednesday and order your favorite Whiskey from 4 pm to closing. Also, we have our outside patio that you can come and enjoy on these sunny and clear days that we have this summer. At night, we have lighting for safety. We also have outside seating in our pavilion as well. One of our newest drinks that we are offering is a mixed drink of “Bud Seltzer and Black Cherry Lemonade”. A refreshing drink for those hot summer days. Also, we also have cherry water ice on hand for when the heat just gets too much to withstand. We are also looking to start a Cornhole tournament. If you are interested in participating, please see the bartenders and write down your name and phone number so that the Chairman can contact you. So, come on out and support ours and your local veterans.

Happy 4th of July, Everyone! With Summer upon us and restrictions being further lifted, it’s great to see both familiar and new faces visiting the post and coming out to the meetings. It was also a privilege to see the honor that was shown to our fallen comrades during the Memorial Day activities and our National Colors during the Flag Day flag retirement service. Thank you to everyone! As we move into the upcoming months, my heart and mind are on active membership. I encourage all members that are able to do so, to please join us at the listed meetings as there is an opportunity to both help and represent our fellow veterans, engage the community, and sustain the post in greater numbers. Without your support, we could not have made it through the recent years or the pandemic, and we would like to work together in the strongest ways possible to fulfill our mission of Veterans Helping Veterans. Thanks again and I hope to see you all soon!

I would like to take this time to tell you about our Department President Jane Babli: Jane’s eligibility is through her father, David Priestley. She began her membership with Edward Arriciato Unit 398, in Elm, NJ when the Unit formed the juniors in 1958. Not only was Jane active as a junior member, but since becoming a senior member of the Unit she has either chaired or worked on all the committees and participated in activities. She continues her involvement with her new Unit (Unit 311) and actively helps with all programs. She has held various chairmanship and officer positions in Camden County and was elected County President in 1990-1992 and again in 2009-2010. She served on the Children & Youth, VA&R, Community Service, Education, Gold Star Mothers, Poppies, and Membership. She continues to volunteer every week in the craft room at Veterans Haven South. We here at Unit 311 would like to wish her the best as her year has just yet begun. Good Luck Jane Babli!
